The Elliott House was once owned by Jim (surveyor for a gas company), Jesse Elliott (housewife), and their two girls. I always remembered how Jesse labored over her flower beds and had one of the best manicured yards in the North Country. No matter the season, you could always find a flower bed in full bloom. Growing up on a farm across the road, I always enjoyed the Lilac bushes.

Enjoy an updated 1860's farmhouse 4 miles from the company of the St. Lawrence River. This spacious country home, on 5 acres with a back patio and a quaint enclosed front porch is perfect to enjoy your coffee in the morning or your favorite beverage after dinner. Bring your boat, your passport, and fish the best kept secret in New York. The St. Lawrence is also known for its many other species of fish and other wildlife. Located on the Waddington and a stop on the Bass Master circuit, many anglers commented that it was the best fishing that they ever experienced. One bass master claims he has fished the circuit for over 20 years and never caught a 6 pound smallmouth until he came to Waddington. Waddington has a family of eagles that nest by the golf course. There are public slips that can be rented from the town of Waddington for $10 per day in case you don't feel like taking your boat in.

The universities, Clarkson, St.Lawrence, Suny Canton and Suny Potsdam are only a stones throw away from the Elliott House. Not a Fisherman? No problem! Plan your perfect day trip to Lake Placid, Ottawa, or Montreal. Both are only a short drive away. Take in 18 holes of golf in town or just stroll the streets of town along the St. Lawrence River. Bring your camera to get shots of the native deer and the turkey. After a long day of sight seeing, the outdoor rustic fire pit is the perfect place to unwind and talk about your day, but be sure to bring your lawn chairs.

It wasn't until after I purchased the place did I realize that the Elliott's always had the best of everything. Although the scalloped carpets are gone, some the designer wall paper adds character to the house. Each bedroom is well appointed and has a quality mattress with Egyptian cotton sheets to ensure a great nights rest so you are ready to take on next day's adventure. Made from a loving family, Jim and Jesse would be happy of the work that has been done to the house to maintain that era of days gone by. Thank you for your time and we hope you enjoy your stay!

Sincerely, Mr. Steve Bissell
